Devin is 18 months & Reagan is 4 months!!!

Reagan is 4 months old and had her check up today. She definitely had put on some weight lately and caught up (just look at those cheeks)!!! She now weighs in at a hefty weight of 13 lbs. 12.5 oz., putting her in the 52nd percentile. And she is 24.25 inches which is the 48th percentile. At 2 months old, she was in the 21st percentile for weight and the 33rd for height, so she is jumping up 10% for height each visit like Devin did.

Devin turned 18 months a few weeks ago and is still off the charts for height. Everyone who holds him says he is a brick, but I think that is because their comparison is Keira and they are about equal now for weight (Keira is still taller). Devin is 34 inches, the top one percentile and the measurement is really not on the chart for his age. For a comparison, his friend just turned two and is an inch shorter and is in the 60th percentile for a two year old. So, Devin's height is tall for a two year old. His weight is 24.5 lbs and holds steady around the 50th percentile....even though he eats us out of house and home!!!!

Devin's First Haircut

The big day finally came down to necessity and bribery with a lollipop. We'd been putting his first haircut off for a long time because we didn't think we could get him to sit still or not scream. The lady was smart enough to bribe him with a lollipop right away when she saw him start to squirm as soon as he sat in the chair. She had to work pretty fast, but luckily he is a boy...so it doesn't require too much precision or cutting, just shaving. He made a mess of the smock with all the drool from the lollipop, but all in all, everyone survived intact and he looks so handsome!!!

We're Growing Up!!!

September is here and overnight it instantly started cooling down. Now remember, cooling down means that it stays in the nineties, but that makes going outside nice and finally enjoyable!!!! We've been going to our new big park across the street a lot and taking a lot of walks. Keira's best friend, Lilah, (whose mom is my good friend) finally got back from her month away - so we have our playdates again. Though, they are probably going to travel to Korea with her daddy for 2 months around the holidays for his work!!! Reagan turned 3 months last week and has caught up in size. Lilah has a baby sibling (born 6 days before Reagan and weighing almost 2 more lbs. at birth)and they weighed exactly the same at the doctor the other day. Her 3 month photo is above. Keira is now into completely dressing herself. I can't pick out her clothes or help her in anyway. I have to be very careful which clothes make it to the dresser because if they are stained or to small...there is no getting them off of her after they are on. At least she seems to always color coordinate her outfits well!! And Devin....all he seems to want to do these days is go sit on the potty, forget the toys- just the potty (sometimes just to sit, sometimes to read a book. I think he likes the quiet or the echo the room makes!) We aren't really dedicated to the effort of training him yet, but if there is one less diaper to change then I'm all for it! And, he gets so excited to see his success. Maybe he heard Dr. Oz on Oprah saying that we need to examine our work in the potty after using it!! Smart boy!!
